It's been a while since I released any music, so as I begin to look towards an early 2016 single or two the time has come for me to shake the dust off of my old DIY Marketing hat and stretch other parts of my creative mind.

As a fan of podcasts, one of my favorite resources for such a headspace is the CD Baby DIY Musician Podcast.

Hosted by Kevin Breuner, the podcast - although released semi-sporadically - runs the gambit of subjects and includes input from plenty of ground level musicians. In my mind this is a nice change from a lot of podcasts that tend to focus on folks who have had a large amount of break through success. Rather than focusing energy there, Kevin involves many more musicians who are really working the grind, making a middle-class living playing music. The advice is practical, down to earth and immediately applicable in most cases.

I have also always been a fan of CD Baby. They're a smaller company with a community feel that really works to support independent art and I hope manages to stick around in the post-CD world.

I vision a bright future for Ivy Hill Entertainment in the podcasting world - it is something I have brainstormed on numerous occasions. But until then, you can check out the CD Baby DIY Musician Podcast here and subscribe on iTunes here.
