Dan Ashley

Dan Ashley may be the best known television news anchor in the Bay Area for more than twenty years, but that’s only part of his story. As a singer and song-writer, Dan taps into a lifetime of experience on the streets as a reporter to tell powerful stories through song. Whether he writes about the shattering repercussions of a failing economy on the lives of people who lost their jobs and their homes or about the universal challenges of making love work, Dan taps into our common humanity in his original songs. While he sings about what it real in our lives, he also knows how to put on a show as a first class rock singer and performer. Over the years, PUSH has had the opportunity to perform at major events and prestigious venues all over the Bay Area including the famous Yoshi’s, AIDS Walk San Francisco, the Cow Palace, and many other great venues. PUSH has also opened for legendary acts including Eddie Money and REO Speedwagon. PUSH is delighted to offer their audiences regular appearances by special guest performers including Jorge Santana, David Victor of Boston, Deborah Del Mastro, Nate’ Soulsanger,  among others. With Dan front and center, every PUSH show is a fun, compelling, and high-energy affair that engages the audience and rocks them out! Dan can also entertain your audience with a scaled-down, un-plugged version of PUSH or as a solo artist with an acoustic accompaniment.

Dan and his PUSH bandmates are a tight-knit unit of musicians who are committed to their craft and strive to create moving and meaningful music while keeping a sense of humor and fun in every performance.  Their shows are a perfect blend of classic covers that everyone loves and dynamic and creative original rock-n-roll.

When Dan isn’t performing with PUSH, you kind find him joining such great artists on stage like multi-Grammy winner Narada Michael Walden, recording artist Cornell Carter, Quicksilver Messenger Service and Starship front man Joli Valenti, and many others.  Dan has also shared the stage with the likes of the legendary Dionne Warwick and Martha Reeves.  You will also find Dan singing the National Anthem all around the Bay Area at major events from the Golden State Warriors and Oakland A’s games, to San Jose State Spartan football, and so many more.

Music is meant to be meaningful and joyful and that is what drives Dan as an artist, in PUSH and beyond.

Dan Ashley is well known as the news anchor for ABC-7, but who knew he had an inner rock star waiting to take the stage?
