Tyler Huffman, Event Guru and DJ Captain

Tyler Huffman is a multi-instrument musician who spends most of his time these days steeped in DJ culture and performance. Tyler fell in love with the turntables over a decade ago and never looked back. He now continuously works to become, and to train, the perfect DJ for any event. “As an open format DJ, I try to stay versed on all styles of music. I’m constantly researching music and digging in record stores. When I’m booked for a set, whether that be soul, hip hop, reggae, jazz, classic rock, etc, I do what I can to keep things funky enough to turn some heads.”

You can catch Tyler out and about DJing spots all over the Bay Area. His favorite nights to play are typically all-vinyl and have world flavors such as Reggae, Latin, or African music. But rest assured, if he needs to play for an audience that is looking for pop sensibilities to keep the crowd moving, he has been filling dance floors with recognizable hits for over a decade. Tyler has been intimately involved with the booking and execution of over 2000 weddings and other special events all across the country. He has parlayed his experience into a popular podcast called The Wedding Weirdos where he and his wife Shelley Anderson discuss all kinds of outside the box tips, trends, and new ideas with top experts in the industry.

Owen Clapp is an active upright and electric bassist in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as in Los Angeles, where he attended the Jazz Performance program at UCLA's Herb Alpert School of Music on scholarship. In the Bay Area, he enjoys playing with the bands of Grammy-winning jazz violinists Mads Tolling and Even Price, accompanying jazz vocalist Paula West, and touring with his own project East of Eden.

He hopes that his experiences as an artist will help to foster strong connections between Ivy and the incredible roster of artists that has formed around it. Additionally, as the author of Community Blog posts, Owen hopes to bridge the gap between Ivy's clients and its musician network.
